Been doing some aesthetics on my runner and would like to overhaul the HVAC and rest of the consoles. I did find the main mod thread for that and the door, as well as the cluster panel. I don't plan on taking on the cluster as I haven't sourced the LEDs but I did buy red 3mm LEDs for the rest of the dash. I do have a few questions for anyone that has embarked on this journey if possible and may need help sourcing a few things possible. I figured one mega thread would be smarter.
1) anyone do the polarizing film mod? Are we able to just buy film off amazon and do it instead of the $50 kit? I want to see what red looks like before conceding to white.
2) for the LCD screen, I found the neo 4mm LEDs needed for a swap via a t4r.org post but was curious if anyone was able to get a bulb in there without destroying the fixture.
3) I haven't been able to find a write up on the 4x4, and shifter lights, cup holder, as well as the toggle switches? There was a link in the main cluster switch over but it is dead now.
4) the last one I'm struggling with is the small, wedge style bulb in the headlight that is used for the DRLs. Not the turn signal but the pain in the butt one to access that is attached to the long grey plastic holder.
I'm aiming for the audi red light look if possible. Nothing against white. It is clean but tends to strain my eyes and prefer red.
