^^^Agreed

Try that. If it stays the same take the intake hose off the throttle body and clean the throttle plate if its dirty, clean with throttle body cleaner (or carb cleaner). Just be careful to not crack any intake hoses cause they will be brittle if they are the original ones.

Good luck

ok so it helped with the rpms but still sounds a little rough. hears a video i made of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSQrcm8KO88&feature=youtu.be

Ok I watched your video...I believe your misfiring(I have a random misfire that I am dealing with now). That start up was pretty funky too. You have to turn the key to turn it over and then turn the key again to start? A simple test to see if your misfiring is to hold a napkin or dollar bill up next to the tail pipe and if it sucks in the paper into the pipe it is misfiring (youtube it if you dont know what I am talking about).

Also is this an automatic trans?

I get that richness smell too but its probably because of my aftermarket catalytic converter(I replaced my spark plugs but I am told I got the wrong kind in there so my truck goes under the knife again this weekend).

Try to pull codes if you can. I agree it kinda sounds like a misfire though its a bit hard to tell from the video. My next best guess would be a bad EGR or maybe an injector? If its a misfire start by checkin out your plugs wires and distributor.

Obsessive shaking of the motor is a good indicator of misfiring though. But agreed, check ignition system OP cause thats what I am doin now in my case of random misfiring

Also the paper test probably won't do much if youve got exhaust leaks...

Yes but wouldn't it just make it that much more apparent that there is misfiring? As in making the sucking that much more violent?(insert sexual joke here :wow:)

Also (I dont know why I didnt think of it:der:) There might be a vacuum leak somewhere even though vacuum leaks are mostly associated with LEAN air/fuel mixtures...still check for misfiring first
