Poor mileage on 4G, would you participate in a suit?

Small claims? The "Honda Civic lady in CA" is your inspiration? Apples and oranges man. In that case, the difference was like 20-30 mpgs. THAT'S A TON of difference and the lady didn't mod her car at all. In any event, that just tells me you want the max allowed ($10k), b/c with a CAL, you get jack (paying the jag off lawyers). You just want to milk the system. This is what its sounding like. If so, you've lost my respect.

There were also THOUSANDS of Civic owners experiencing the same problem. In fact almost all Civic Hybrid owners of that year were experiencing well below stated MPG.

Here.....Ronsta and so far he's found 2 others that are experiencing below stated MPG. And so far it's very very questionable if there IS a problem with his 4runner because of the gas (Ethanol) and the tires.

Some people are too stubborn or too stupid to learn.

Fine, maybe I'll give it a rest but what about my 2 friends (real people, not from the interwebs) whose trucks are totally stock and well maintained? Should they just give it a rest also and bend over?

M1911, your handle infers you like guns right? Specifically a .45 caliber ? I might be taking a stab here but maybe you like defending yourself and your freedoms? Well so do I & that's the reason I served the good old US of A. At what point in time would those who suffer bad MPGs have a right to say something, when they get really really bad ie 5 MPG ?

You have every right to say something. In fact, you are saying something right here. I don't have any problem with you saying something. What you are saying is wrong, in my opinion, and I have the right to say that too.

Your mileage may vary really does mean what is says. The mileage that you achieve is a result of how, where, and when you drive. Commuting into Boston in the peak of rush hour and being heavy on the gas and brakes is going to result in someone getting far less than the rated mileage. Commuting on an open highway, in moderate weather, at a steady 55 is going to result in someone getting at the high range of the rated mileage.

The EPA-rated mileage is what the truck achieved in a standardized, repeatable test, that is mandated by law. The fact that you are getting worse mileage is most likely due to: 1) your modifications, 2) where you drive, 3) when you drive, and 4) how you drive.

So, no, I won't support your idea of starting a frivolous lawsuit over what is your own fault.
