popping sound when i turn left

does anyone with a 1990 4runner get a loud pop or creak when the turn all the way to the left

If it only happens when you turn all the way (when the steering wheel won't turn anymore), then it's 100% normal. If it's any left turn, it's probably a balljoint issue.

it only when i turn all the way but if its normal shouldnt it do it when i turn right also?

It's probably the turn stops under there just needing grease. Look under the front near the wheel and you'll see them. It's just a stud with a plastic cap on it that hits a little flat spot to stop the wheels from turning any further. Just slap some grease on the ends and it should stop. If you can't figure out what I'm talking about I'll post a pic.

You can get that sound at full lock when one of the plastic caps on the steering stops falls off, so it can be one side or the other.

One side only could also be a bad CV joint.

JUST GOT THE PLASTIC CAPS FOR MINE FROM TOYOTA. THEY WERE ABOUT $6 A PIECE AND THERE ARE 4 OF THEM. MY LOCAL DEALER HAD A BOX OF THEM.
