Portable GPS suggestions

That is correct Mafster is not me, but Mafster1 is. Check "Community" on Ebay when looking me up.

I'm down to 3 units left (from 10). First come-first served! I can't guarantee I'll be able to secure a low price on my next order because of Garmin's new pricing.

Holy cow, for $900 it better be awesome. For that kind of money I'd be tempted to think about a head unit upgrade for GPS, MP3, bluetooth etc. right in the dash.

But I admit it's WAY cool. Nice screen, probably a fast and intuitive interface similar to c330, portable, MP3, traffic alerts, audible.com, photos, text-to-speech voice routing. With a screen like that it's too bad they didn't include a video player.

I haven't seen any good reviews anywhere yet, let us know if you continue to enjoy it.

http://www.store.yahoo.com/arnottwholesalegpssystems/ganu350allne.html Got mine for $XXX shipped

Edited: Arnott is requesting we call for the best price as he cannot advertise it.

That is a great price! Looks like he has found a way to dodge Garmin's fixed pricing policy by not posting the price. As long as Garmin doesn't catch on and cut him from their wholesale program...~but that is his problem and you, the buyer, in the meantime are the winner. I recommend getting the units from him for that deal.

Preorders were as low as $689, but as soon as they started shipping the price went up to $899. I'm kicking myself for not preordering!!

Same here. I got an online quote for $678 (or thereabouts) from another retailer this past Sunday. Had my mouse pointer hovering over the "Buy" button. But, thought....naw... I'll do it later this week. Went back on Monday just to recheck the price, and it had risen to $899, like everyone else. AAAAAAArrrrghh!!!! Dammit, dammit, dammit.

Well I ordered from this place as well and should get it on Friday. I'll post up some pics and a review.
Good -- I've been delaying ordering one until I could get a better idea of how well it works. Saw one at Circuit City and was impressed, but it couldn't lock on the satellites so I couldn't really try it out.

I'll let you know how it is when I get it and also give a review of the place I bought it from. They are selling it for much cheaper than everyone else. They are a smaller shop so I was hesitant, but they are selling through Yahoo and I paid with a credit card. If anything goes south, I have two avenues of getting my money back.

The price I paid also includes Next Day Delivery through DHL.

Ok I just got the Nuvi 350 today and I got back from playing with it. I am totally impressed with the unit!!! Of course this is my first ever GPS so I don't have a lot to compare it to, but the quality of the product is outstanding!!!! I'll have a full review up with pictures soon.

I bought it from Arnott Wholesale GPS (http://www.store.yahoo.com/arnottwholesalegpssystems/ganu350allne.html) and I'm totally satisfied by the service that Jason gave me. These guys have the cheapest price I've found and it also includes next day delivery through DHL. Buy it from them! I am in now way affiliated with them just impressed by the quick delivery of the product and the polite service received.

Glad your satisfied with site, used them myself. If you need more info regarding your nuvi go here http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=161

taeeno - Thanks for finding this awesome deal!

I found that forum too while looking for reviews on the NUVI, there is a lot of information there. Hey I edited your thread and removed the price paid because Arnott didn't want it advertised.

Call Arnott to get the best price! Trust me, its better than what all the online companies I looked through are advertising, plus it includes next day shipping.

Sharp, I've been following gpspassion for a while (at least the English forums, not the French ones). Figured you already found it, too.

Wow, fell off this thread but happened to run across it again. Sorry for not answering where I saw the c340 for $550. I think it was GPSnow. com but I may have been quoting the c330 so I apologize for any inconvenience.

As for me, I went the much cheaper route and bought a Garmin i3. I have to highly recommend this product for anyone wanting to try GPS out in their car. It's a tiny screen but very readable in all lighting conditions. It has the voice prompts and can be very loud. It also takes AA batteries, which I have a ton of rechargables hanging around. It does everything I hoped for from a GPS unit and to top it off, it's pretty indiscreet. BTW, it only costed $289 and less than $320 shipped.

Here are some pics of my setup:
