Come on 4runner people! It would be sick if you guys joined us on the 31st of March. We could bring tacomas and 4runners together! :biggrin2:

It would be the ultimate toyota experience. We have about 13 tacomas and a few FJ cruisers. Some people will be camping over the weekend.

It would be a good community to get to know each other better. I am going more for the aspect of socializing than wheeling on the dunes.
 
i would go but i hate sand, i dont drink, and i dont have a flag(dont know where to get one either, and dont see the point in buying one for a one time deal). i wouldnt mind doing a TSF run or some other deal -as long as i have the weekend free and the wife is not working. i have nothing against tacos, infact id love to get a 01-04 trd dubble cab. but the taco community and their love of sand i will never understand. i dont mind going to the beach and driving down the beach, i just dont like the dunes, too many *******s, lose canons and drunks to deal with, not to mention the pricks on quads and bikes who think they own the place.

I don't drink either. Everyone I wheel with are idiots like the people at sand lake. We always make sure everyone is staying safe.
 
Well it doesn't sound like I'll be doing any wheeling trip anytime soon. SUCKS! Recent repairs are going to set me back a bit! I just got back from a weekend trip of volunteering out in Central Oregon and during the trip I received a rock chip to the wind shield, and discovered my front brake pad were finished (partially due to brake fade;couldn't lock up my brakes and activate ABS on a gravel road)

Got the windshield repaired for 30 bucks...no biggie.

Then took the 4runner into Brake Team to have them inspect the brakes. Front brake rotors are warped to pieces (been that way for over a year), have black bands going around then, and have cracking in the metal from heat and hot spots, and the pads are almost worn through. So I just ordered parts for 199mm Tundra Brake upgrade ($325). I HOPE these calipers fit with my stock 16" split spoke rims.

Then got around to the rear brakes. Passenger rear is fine for now, but the drivers rear was a different story. The rear axle seal has started to leak on that side, but only a little. It isn't noticeable from the outside of the axle, you can only see gear oil on the inside of the drum brakes. I think my recent switch to synthetic gear oil in the rear diff might have encouraged the leak because there wasn't a leak a few thousand miles ago. Since it's just a small leak I am going to try and get away with just replacing the O-ring and Inner Seal and not having to deal with getting a new bearing and outer seal pressed at a machine shop.

yeah youll be fine with those 199s, and as far as the seals go i think you will be good their too with your plan. let us know if you need a hand doing any of this...

Thanks! Front brakes should go on easy. Been there done that. And I can probably coax a local high school kid into pumping brakes for me to bleed the fronts afterwards in exchange for learning how to change disc brakes and free lunch :).

When I get to the seal and changing out the rear shoes & drums I'll for sure be hitting you guys up for some help. I've never changed drums or shoes before..only disc brakes.
 
went wheeling with few trucks this weekend on snow up to mabee mines, video is being uploaded to youtube right now, should be up shortly

Looks like a killer fun trip Boosted! Whats the high pitch whining noise that your truck puts off though?? Sounds like the sound you hear when you go too fast in reverse. Is it the supercharger?
 
Just got my 199mm Tundra brakes on and bedded in. After almost two years of driving on wobbly sloppy warped front brakes this is just bliss....Once I bleed the brakes a second time through they will be even better:)
 
yes, lol. thats blower sound, i like it! helps me accelerate alot faster and i like the sound, but i now have to only fill up with supreme , and gas millage goes way down when i feel like having a heavy foot, haha
 
You guys just missed a really fun snow trip up at the trask mountains. There was 6 rigs and none of us had any body damage or had anything break :bravo: which made it a great trip. Gitout.com has something going on every weekend as long as you dont mind wheeling with other makes and models of rigs. Here are just a couple pix of my rig up there yesterday. Enjoy!
