sorry guys not gonna make it out tomorrow, i got a service -retiree, full honors...
my 4wd is acting funny, have a hard pull to the right in 4wd, and its taking a lot more throttle than it should to move the truck, i can only top out at about 60mph in 4wd too (yes 4hi). i got two new CVs, just havent had the time to put them in... i also need to flush the tcase to see whats going on inside that, as well as the front diff.

good afternoon gents, so i've replaced my POS 'Destination A/T's' with some Duratrac's and am wondering if their are any wheeling expeditions in the near future? i'm by no means to hang with you "highly modified" guys off in the jungle, but i have the ARB bumper/ winch/ tires/ and a lift, I am feeling much more confident in the un-paved area's.
So anything coming up? or am i too late to the party?

Just saw this pop up on CL a few minutes ago if anyone is in need of a cargo cover. 40 bucks is a pretty good deal. I think i got mine for 20.

id be down, i just need to swap out my front ADD tube, i have a spare on my spare diff, or i can buy one from a wrecked truck for like $35... but i will have to swap the part over, and i dont have a garage right now... so if someone wants to lend a hand and open up their garage so i can do this...

Where are you thinking of wheeling? There are a few spots around the Cougar and Woodland area as well as Chelatchie Prairie.

I've been through Cougar and Woodland area's (on my Sport-Bike) but no off road adventuring's in those area's yet, as long as the area isn't overwhelmingly difficult i'd be up for any of those spots, so how about you choose your favorite and i'll meet you there?

The Woodland spot has some difficult spots but thats if you choose to go that route. The Chelatchie spot has been getting dumped on by snow but its all fire roads. As song as you air down there shouldn't be any issues. There's a real easy spot about 30mins from Vancouver. Lots of snow and fire roads to travel with some spots you can get into some difficult trails if you want. How long do you want to be gone for? The Chelatchie and Cougar spots are typically an all day thing where as the Woodland and Washougal spots can be a good half day run or you can make it an all day.

I can make it out all day, I just haven't taken my 4Runner out off road (in an serious fashion) so i plan on taking it slow. I was into off roading in my GMC Sierra about 8 years ago but it has been awhile you know....
i tend to stick to fire/ power-line roads so i don't get found missing somewhere, but if you know the spots man i'll follow you! I've got an air pump and tire gauge too so running lower pressure isn't a problem. and my spare tire was just replaced also.
i don't have another gas carrying option though, so i will need to be able to re-fuel somewhere's if we're out all day....

I was just up 54 sunday, the road was so bad with snow it really wasnt fun. it was the wet nasty snow larch gets. we where trying to make it to carson, got about 22 miles from it and had to turn around because a guy in our group couldnt go any further.
on a side note i might be interested and have another 4runner who might be interested. jsut have to check the bank account for gas funds.

i tend to underestimate my abilities when off-road, fairly sure it's kept me from many problems....
but if i can't hang with the group, i'll make sure to open my mouth and head out with my tail tucked between my legs so everyone else doesn't have to leave too.
i have some great story's of me in my first car (1985 Honda Accord) that had some giant truck operators choking when they say what i drove that car thru when i was a teeny bopper!
bunch of them where standing around a mud field /pond that they just tore up with 38"+ boggers and misc. other trucks, then the accord comes flying up the trail (straddling the ruts) i stop and roll down the window to Bullshit and they where just floored! lol oh the old days...

I'm running open front and rear diffs so the only advantage I have is ground clearance. I have two recovery straps and I don't mind not trying anything crazy. I just want to get out with some fellow 4runner peeps and cruise around in the mountains.
