id love to go, but with no 4wd im not even gonna think about it. id kill my battery so fast winching out of every little snow berm...

uh oh... break something? if i can help you fix something I've acquired a heap of tools that can repair most anything....
I plan on installing Ausie locking differentials soon-ish, i confirmed parts numbers today, but need to stop spending all my money on things i haven't even put to use yet....

yeah i cooked the outter bearing on my ADD tube... thats whats giving me my hard pull to the right and noise/vibration in 4wd... not to mention taking a lot more power to move things, i can barely do 50mph in 4hi. so unless i absolutely have to use 4wd im not gonna use it
this is a result of not paying attention and running my front diff too low.

ouch... so you just need a wheel hub and an outer driveline?? i would think your entire dif would be cooked too? but if not, that reduces the parts bill!

well fella's i was instructed by the women of the house, that the super-blow is this Sunday.... not sure if this is a big deal to anyone else?
so i work Friday night, but may be able to make this on Saturday.... i don't think i'd be able to stay awake if we're out all day, but maybe....

Well my usual days off are Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday's, any of those days usually work for me.
I think this Saturday can work for me, but not an all day run please. Mountain Cruise sounds perfect!

Last night I took a stroll up at Larch. I forget who said there was shitty snow up there but they weren't lying. I got up to 4 Corners and headed up to the Gravel Pit and there was a tow trucking pulling a 2nd gen up of the edge. Apparently the guy was either stoned or something and he pulled over and set his front tire off the road and then couldn't get backup. Then a passer by tried to tow him with a strap and the 2nd gen rolled side ways down off the edge.
The snow up there is wet and heavy. I have never had so many problems trying to go thru 2' of snow. I noticed in many areas that under the snow is a good 6-8" of slush.

Might of been me saying that on a previous page.
Snow wheeling sucks this time of year up there. I would go past chelachi prairie general store up 57. Might be able to get up fast enough and get out of the slush.

i know how you feel... if you want more of a causal drive, i think i might have something for you, [MENTION=72994]derekabraham[/MENTION] and i are trying to plan a photo op run, more of a picture taking afternoon, up on mt hood. its just a mater of finding a day that will work for us all. we arent really planning on doing any serious wheeling(as i am only 2wd right now) just want to get into the white stuff to take some pics of our rigs... -im sure we could take some of yours too lol

i think im gonna be sending my rig off to get fixed, i do not have the time nor the place to work on it... i will be having the front coils replaced with taller lift coils, a diff drop, and new diff mounting brackets with new bushings put in, possibly even new outer tie rod ends. hoping this will be done next weekend while im away playing army. -my rig will be going up to my father inlaws place to have to work done by him. -kinda sad as id love to do this myself and gain the experience but time dictates otherwise

Isaac has a winch though so he should be ok.
yeah i still need to fully unwind my winch, and re-spool it under tension (per the instructions).
i'd be down to tag along for a photo shoot, i'm a junior photographer myself so i think that could be a good time!
i think someone that knows a good deal about a location / conditions of the loaction should jump in here and set up something concrete! soon! :eyebrows:
