Portland oregon

I'm about 45 minutes south of you in Oregon and could lend a hand if Isaac isn't able to. I'd just ask for some help on gas money if I head up; I'm 22 year old broke college kid:) Hopefully he can come through for ya since he's more in your neck of the woods.
 
Thank you both guys. I'm 18 and still have a pretty tight leash on myself and apparently it's apart of my punishment to either pay 150$ for a shop to do it wrong or have my grandpa do it and me pay him with 8 hours of yard work. I guess that's what I get for only paying half of my car at 17 and it go in her name. I'll pay the rest when I get the money so she can stop holding it over me. Enough of the rant. Thank you guys! Really appreciate it.
 
Well...a shop would hopefully not do it wrong...its really straight forward. Remove 3 fill bolts and 3 drain bolts, drain fluid/fill fluid, torque bolts back down. Any shop that can't do that has got bigger issues...

Yeah but paying a shop $3-400 for that is stupid and ridiculous... And they could still use the wrong fluid or strip out a bolt or heaven forbid a case...

Don't beat yourself up too much man, it's probably saving you money on insurance with the title in your ma's name. Might I suggest you have your mom read a few of these threads, maybe give her a understanding of the good group of knowledgable guys willing to offer you aa hand. I would think she'd maybe change her mind once she read a few of them, and we can totally set up a thread just for her to read that's clean and doesn't have you ragging on her for making you do 8 hours of work at your grandpas house which if you ask me you should probably do anyways you know the whole respect your elders thing and all. Maybe we can get a group wrenching day here soon, I'm sure as you probably know already that anything you do yourself is better not only do you save money but you gain good'ol knowledge and that's priceless.

I'd like a group wrenching day. Just bought spark plugs and wires. Was gonna have [MENTION=101823]Jaketino[/MENTION] Show me how to do it all and I would buy him a good lunch. He thought it was a good deal. :biggrin2:
 
Since i'm working 5 days a week and going to school M-F I'll try to work something out. If we plan something a couple weeks in advance I could take it off. (hopefully)
