Wish I could... I'm flying out there on saturday night. Picking up my grandma's 91 corolla (she's too old to drive anymore) and driving that back to Colorado, leaving on Sunday. My mom lives in portland though, so I'll be out there with the runner sooner or later.

well when you make it out here with the runner let us know... oregon has a lot of wheeling... you can go from the california border to the washington border and only touch like 20miles of paved road... i plan on doing this trip in the next couple of years. but there are other smaller day and weekend trips all over

Hey gang sorry for the blatant spam here but since this is a thread specifically for "Portland" folks I figured I'd post up my offer here.

I manage a small Satellite TV installation company and I am looking for a few new installation technicians. We contract exclusively with DirecTV, provide paid training, company truck (or you can use your own), fuel reimbursement, competitive pay & paid vacation after one year. We work mainly in the Portland metro area but also have work available in the gorge or along the northern OR coast. Our days off are Wednesday and Thursday (not negotiable) and we are very flexible with time off when you need it.

Looking for technicians with previous cable or satellite TV installation experience and verifiable references but will train the right person/s. Must be able to pass drug screen and criminal background check.

Our technicians are making between $600-$1000 per week right now.

^Not trying to be rude... Do any of those techs have a license? People who install satellite cable should have a LEA license.

Nothing rude about that at all, good question actually. Some states require cable/sat installers to be low voltage licensed, Oregon/Washington do not. The company I work for is a general contractor and everyone who works for us are employees of that company. No 1099 or anything like that about it. DTV is very strict about licensing & insurance requirements and we meet all of their requirements as well as state requirements. It's a legit gig.

So if anyone here is interested or knows someone looking for work please get in touch.

I think they should be required to have state license because they do crappy work... Haha most of those guys need to be shown how to properly pull cable...
 
hey everybody. im trying to turn a couple parts into gas money. thought i would try the local board as shipping might be prohibitive, + always nice to help a local brother/sister out. up for sale are a set of sonoran steel shackle hangers. primed and painted. bought new, on my truck for a few months and sadly never even used. also trying to liquidate a set of hella micro fogs, direct oem style replacement for the fatlip bumper. bought new and were only on the truck for a few months until i replaced my bumper. last i heard, i think these might be hard to come by now.

if you got a stock fatlip with a busted fog and the cheesy front recovery point, this is your lucky day (im lookin at you nate :)

if anyone is interested im asking $120 for the hangers and $100 for the fogs.

i see you caught my reference.:whipping2 lol. also, i didnt mean to offend anyone by calling the factory recovery cheesy. just that next to the ss hanger, it looks a little feeble.

im surprised theres no interest in either. i thought my asking prices were fair since i paid close to double on both, and they are "like new" oh well, sigh...

if things change for you Nate, let me know, i might have these for a while.

also of note, if you dont have a hitch, the hangers can be used in the rear as well. i will also throw in a second recovery hook (i moved the hook from the front to the rear and added a second hook so there is one on both sides of the frame (recovery points on all 4 corners.)

hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather we're having. looking forward to a late summer meet-up should there be one.
