Tigard

Just west of Tigard and King city and before Sherwood is a huge pick and pull. Been there. Great place for parts.

yeah thats on hwy 99. ive gotten stuff from them before, lots to chose from. there is also a maz-toy recycler out in troutdale that has a ton of toyota stuff

I'll have to check some of those places out. :)

All I need is a windshield wiper switch from a 00-02 4Runner. It's turning out to be harder to find than I thought!

Alright, slight red flag coming from my 4Runner.

Maybe 50% of the time at start up, there is a rattle that sounds like it comes from the passenger side undercarriage. It almost sounds like it's coming from the muffler area. I also noticed a very slight burnt odor coming from the undercarriage somewhere (very, very faint, perhaps it was a normal odor and I'm just being paranoid). At start up, as soon as it turns over the rattle occurs, followed by a slight hesitation of the engine firing up. I haven't noticed any leaks or anything in my parking space. I don't see any holes in any pipes or anything. I really have no idea what it could be. :(

However, I haven't had any abnormal shifting or jerking or engine revving or any other vibrations or noises or anything like that at all...what gives? Alternator? Starter? Exhaust piping? I have new belts, a 6 month old Optima battery and new spark plugs already, so it shouldn't be any of those things.

Is there anybody on here that could help me diagnose this for sure? Or is there a shop that could check it out that won't charge me an arm and a leg just to check things out?

Every time I go to make a video of the sound, it doesn't make it of course.....

I just got back from Larch. Almost rolled my 4R at the quarry. It's still coming down but a lot of the areas has 2-3" of snow. If you go up to 3points and take the road up you can get into 5"+. I found some areas of untouched powder.

well for those of you who did not go up today, be glad you didnt, i escaped with no damage but others where not so lucky. i have been driving on snow and ice before but today was no fun. two of the guys wrecked their rigs, not totaled but man it sucked, there was nothing they could do... drop off on one side and bank on the other and a steep hill on glazed snow = a bad time for all. then you get some jerks who shouldnt be out to begin with and alcohol, yeah... we some some idiot in a cheep cherokee smash into a pole trying to show off.

boosted99ek9 might have gotten some of today on his gopro. but i was too concerned with driving and keeping from getting hit to be taking any pics. honestly it was more fun watching idiots tear around than driving in this stuff.

it was like 34* out but with the amount of snow on the ground the ground was still cold enought that the snow was not melting, just getting glazed.

^Dereck I don't even know why I bother asking these dudes if they want to meet for lunch or dinner. lol It seems like they don't even think I exist. Haha.

It seems hard to meet up with some of these guys for a simple meet and greet! :p

hey now, ive traveled all the way to tacoma for a meet and greet...

i have not been working much so eating out and other trips have to be kept to a minimum (be lucky you have a job for those of you who have them). the only way i could do this was it was right in my back yard basically. takes me ~15min to get there. plus a lot of us dont like sand(just like some dont like mud or snow). keep trying man we are out there but when you have like 20+ people with different schedules its gonna be hard.
