Little bit of everything? Just basic maintenance or are you having issues? I know your clutch gives your problems, but did it finally give out on you?

hey guys, sorry I forgot the 'r' in BadgeR Lake from my original post. It's up past Government Camp on Mt. Hood; normally an easy-moderate FS road that leads to 4 primitive camping sites on the lake; but might be fun with snow. I was reading up last night on the Oregon Forest Service page and the road is closed; mainly due to 70" of snow; so I am guessing most of the Hood area will be about the same.

Any other suggestions?
 
the only thing i can think of is lola pass road, its been a while sense i was over it(a couple of years ago) but i tryed it earlier this winter, and it got too late(had the mrs and kids) so i turned around i was pushing snow with the bumper... and i saw several rigs coming down as i was going up, including a truggy on like 38+s... so i know guys go up there to snow wheel so i dont think there is a gate, but i could be wrong. anyhow the road takes off out of Zigzag(hwy 26 around Welches/Rhododendron, on you way to gov camp) and heads out towards the gorge and hood river valley and lost lake. its an awesome drive in the summer, and so on a nice day in the winter should be epic. how ever i would advise that if you guys go on this "drive" bring extra food and water and warm cloths and maybe even a sleeping bag to stay warm at night for the proverbial "what if" or "oh ****". if i was not doing a SAR training event on saturday i would be down for this.
 
I've never snow wheeled on Lolo pass road, but I go up there in the summer to rock climb at a place called 'Frenches Dome" that is about 5 or 7 miles up the road I believe. Pretty remote. I don' think there is a gate either, but I haven't gone extremely far up that road either.
 
How rough is that road?

I live in that area, but always afraid to go up roads, not knowing what to expect. Not wanting to get the new rig, dinged up or stuck.......... I know......... that is what they are for :) but not yet.......
Can I go, all the way over to Hood River? Won't be going till the thaw, tho...

boosted99ek9 might have gotten some of today on his gopro. but i was too concerned with driving and keeping from getting hit to be taking any pics. honestly it was more fun watching idiots tear around than driving in this stuff.

it was like 34* out but with the amount of snow on the ground the ground was still cold enought that the snow was not melting, just getting glazed.

you could drive a honda accord or like car over it in the summer time, the hood river side is about half gravel but still a good road. yes it goes all the way through to hood river/odell. its a nice scenic drive in the spring or summer. some of it is narrow and one lane and i do not recall their being a center line for about 1/3 - 1/2 of it, but its also not highly traveled. taking your runner over it would be no problem.
