Sorry to high jack the thread gents, but I live in portland and just bought my first 4runner, 98 sr5 w/ 5spd, and have a vibration that i suspect is the result of improper balancing based on all I've read about vibration on 4runners. Can anyone recommend a shop and tech around the area that knows what they are doing?

Had lunch at Rouge Brewery today and it was fantastic.
Kobe beef bacon cheese burger with fries. Very good burger!
Just about everything on the menu is made with Rouge beer. Quite the menu from sandwiches, pizza, pasta's and salmon.
38 beers on tap. I had the Yellow Snow IPA which set off the burger.
The special beer is the Voodoo Doughnut Bacon maple Ale. Also, they have a garage sale going on this weekend. Sorry no 4runner parts, just beer.
Nice. I live in the Pearl but I haven't made it to Rogue yet for some reason. Oh wait I'm not 21 yet. :dammit:
P.S. I think i've seen your 4Runner before. Are you downtown or in the Pearl often?

I am pretty sure you can still go in and have food and at the very least a Rouge draft root beer. :hungry:
I live in SE Portland but I drive all over Portland on the weekends. I needed to go to REI for some new boots, which is about 4 blocks from Rouge. As I passed Rouge heading to REI, I knew where I was going to have lunch.

Girlfriend and I had an awesome impromptu trip to the beach. Stayed at Surftides Hotel in Lincoln City and all around had a great trip. Little cold yesterday but much better today.

I am and I'm going to try to make that Trask trip and you guys should too its not that far and many different levels of trails from pot holes on a logging road to 4 foot deep ruts to try to stay on top of and of course lots of technical loose rock hill climbs. The more show up the more fun it will be so come if you can.

Looks like a shop has designed and is cranking out some steel bumpers for Toyota's up in Battleground, WA. Anyone know what shop, or who this is. His price seem reasonable and the product looks good from the pictures. Here is the CL ad:

I've been wanting to go to him to see if he can make sliders for me. He's done some work for guys on tacomaworld.com. They recommend him.
I'm not sure if it's an actual "shop", he might just do one-offs. I'm not 100% sure though. His name is Correy.

I tried a CL search and found he had a few posts for various Yota model bumpers; this add you can see their logo cut into the bumper: 1989-1995 toyota 4x4 winch bumper
Searched like mad to find something online to match, but the closest I got was that the number listed is a cell phone; one thing I can see from these right off the bat is that it does not have any front shackle points?

I know Corey, He makes them out of his work shop in Hockinson. Here is a 3rd gen bumper he just built. I've seen his work and his welding is nice but I'm not a huge fan of his designs.
Have you tried Hard Notched Customs in Downtown Vancouver? They have killer prices and really nice work. Talk to Matt, he's really nice and let him know that I sent you in there and he will give you a very fair price.

Does Hard Notched Customs make sliders? or does Corey? Both make sliders, Corey quoted me $400 for boxed sliders and $325 for tube sliders for a 3rd gen 4runner. I don't think that included paint/powder coat.

I was driving through Tualatin yesterday and was passed by a FJ Cruiser with TVF&R logos on it and flashing lights. Did a little reading up via Google and found out that TVF&R has like 3 or 4 of these to use for non-fire first response instead of sending a fire engine. I have never heard of a US service department using anything other than cars made in the USA for their fleet vehicles so I thought it was awesome that TVF&R was branching out to Toyota's. It's gonna a slippery slope now...
