Possible transmission issue??

For the last two months my 2002 4runner has been giving me issues with shifting. I've taken it to a couple shops and they're having a hard time figuring out what is wrong.

Symptoms: The shifting seems to act up when the engine isn't entirely warm. When I start driving and then stop at a stop sign near my driveway it almost seems like the truck puts itself into neutral because when I pull away from a "complete stop" the truck jolts into gear causing the rear wheels to chirp and slightly peel out (like a neutral drop into drive, the rpm's skyrocket). It usually only happens when the car isn't at operating temp, but I've noticed it even when its at normal temp.

The trans oil was recently replaced along with the filter. Could it be the torque converter, a bad transmission, or bad shift solenoids? Any advice/suggestions are appreciated!!

Dumb question but have YOU checked the fluid level hot ? Shops don't always follow the procedure for a service they should

have you had the trans serviced recently? when was the last time the fluid was changed and or flushed(thats two different things btw), how many miles on the truck? what shops did you take it to? there could be a variety of things causing this. your pump could be going bad, a bad tq converter, a sticky valve, broken spring, low fluid, wrong fluid, plugged passage, broken clutch pack/plate, ect ect ect

Transmission was recently serviced, new filter, fluid, transmission pan seal etc...trucks transmission has 182,000 miles. Took it to aamco, but they didn't have any idea what was goin on, and said they'd need it for a day to go more in depth, but they were scratching their heads. I notice the issue gettin worse. The fluids are at he right level when cold and warm.

and why would anyone take their vehicle to aamco, or jiffy lube or the likes is beyond me... circus monkeys could do better work than those idiots

Been going on since before bringing it to those shops to get looked at.
