Possible Water Pump Failure?

I was hoping someone could pipe-up and give some advice.

I have noticed my coolant level dropping very slowly lately. I can smell a faint scent of coolant; however, cannot pinpoint the leak. Where would one look to see if perhaps the culprit is the water pump? Any tell-tale signs of WP failure?

I had same problem with the coolant level in 2011. After few days searching a leak around the engine, i found very small leak in the radiator (cooling fan side). Took radiator out and went to the radiator shop. They fixed it for a very razonable price, installed back and no low level of coolant anymore. Hope it helps.

Thanks David. It looks like the radiator, hoses, thermo housing and overflow tank are all good :( More probing is needed. If anyone has a pic of some failed pump evidence or even an exploded part diagram with points that could be checked, I would be eternally in your debt :hatsoff:

In case anyone stumbles upon this post. I found two great ways to investigate water pump failure: take off the left timing belt cover off and look for coolant or moistness an even easier way is to scoot under her and look for a very small weep hole in the bottom timing belt cover. If she's bleeding, you got issues

Unfortunately, in life, that's always the case my friend.
