Question for you desert runners, (Texas here) do you have any special modifications to your air box? High end filter or anything? I'd be afraid of sucking up some sand, I doubt a paper filter can stop it all... Idk, I drive mine on the beach every so often, but nothing like you guys do.

Here are a few shots from this past weekend in Pismo for the yearly Toyota Jamboree.

is that a full-size matching spare under there?

if so, then did you have to modify anything to get it to fit?

I ask because my full-size matching spare (33s) will not fit underneath the truck (but my 4Runner has the tow hitch with 2" receiver installed), and was just wondering whether simply removing it would be all it takes...

Its actually the factory spare. I figured with being 4 hours from home it would help me in a pinch. I believe a 32 will fit under there but i have to check. I will see whether there is anymore room under there when i get the chance. Its an addicted off road rear. I believe scotty has tried a larger spare under there

exactly my thinking as well, i.e. I plan to stick a factory spare underneath with the largest size tire which will fit (for now), and then eventually my actual matching spare will go on either a roof rack or a rear bumper with swing-out tire carrier...

I believe a 32 will fit under there but i have to check. I will see whether there is any more room under there when i get the chance.
