this is what i made for the 4th of july...
had a pound of ground beef, (and there are only two of us, my roomate and i) so i made 2 half pound pattys... and i over cooked some bacon so it was nice and crispy, and so that it would turn into bacon bits easily, and rubbed that into the meat... mmmmm it was delicous. along with some oven baked onion rings. i would have deep fryed them but the fryer was being borrowed by my parents.

in cali, from what i heard, the el pollo loco in the la area is the best, the one in the bay area is alright, but its decent for me to enjoy.

did they have a special? i bought the 8 pc leg and thigh family meal, and they offered another 8pc leg and thich chicken only for 5 bucks. total price for everything was around 26 bucks.

Oh yes they had the family meal and then add-ons for cheap. Can't remember the exact price. But I ate most of my meals there.

Tried my hand at making a Paella last night.
Turned out damn good. It had marinated chicken, sausage, shrimp, clams, etc. Plenty of garlic, tomato, onion, bell pepper, etc. Used arborio "risotto" rice because I couldn't find short grain spanish rice. Also used tumeric instead of saffron bc I'm a cheapass.
Probably hard to mess these up, kinda like a chili really.
