Post your Pics if you have LC coils as your lift!!

A clarification for the recommended shocks for the rear with LC coils should be worked on since we are all a bit confused on this. I've read that the stock LC rear coil (black) work great. Someone has to know!

I'm still looking for pictures of a trd tundra coil front lift with a landcruiser rear lift setup picture without any body lift! I appreciate everyone's help so far!

This is the exact setup I have, + the ARB prado bullbar

o ya i could post up some baby flex pics theres no rear sway bar either

bump! Any more pictures of lifted runners usings LC coils?

Who has the TRD Tundra coils up front and LC coils in back like the SS1.2 kit but didn't purchase the SS kit?

Its coming my buddy is at the rubicon this week but when he gets back he will dig through his shed to get me some lightly used 97 anniv. Coils. I was gonna source trd tundra front coils but found a set of king coil-overs on craigslist totally rebuilt with two sets of springs 550 and 650. paid $400.:trophy: so pics are coming

We'll I can't wait till cordrayj1 posts up the pic's. I seriously thought the LC's coil would be great for towing. Glad I never swapped out my 891.

The anticipation is killin me! I can't wait to see! I just need to save up for some SS Adjustable trac/panhard bar and the diff drop. I'm thinking of getting cheap skyjacker shocks for the rear for now until all the shocks wear out. then upgrade to all Bilstein!

so it doesnt really LOOK as bad as I thought it would . . .

it might not look that bad, but at the hitch it drops a good 3-4 inches if not more when i dropped the trailer on it. but this example was a little abnormal seeing as how i usually ALWAYS have tools and whatever else in the back of the 4runner, this time it was completely empty (because ive been moving). so the difference is not as extreme.

Bouncy as crap, watch those potholes or you will go for a bouncy ride.....also, the rear view mirror points at the ground (or at your trailer) when u are towing....the list goes on...ask any questions and i will be glad to answer. anddddd CV's vibrate a god bit more at highway speeds with weight on the tail...

I can definitely see your sagging issue with the LC coils! They are just flexy squishy coils and great ride and offroad capabilities. If you wanted to tow I guess the OME springs would have been your best choice. OR you could get the air bags to put inside the LC coils to stiffen up the ride for your towing needs. I believe Toytec carries them now!

Actually here is the link for those air bags. Firstone rear airbags - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits

**EDIT**
I failed to read your post above, you already know about the air bags! Sorry about that!

And also, CORDRAYJ1, are you running the SS 1.2 lift kit? Or did you piece it together like I am? It looks like you got the nice Bilsteins up front, which makes me assume you have the SS 1.2 kit.

Yeah, I do have the SS 1.2 (and love it)

what are your color codes? as far as LC coils go, you arent clearing those 31's as much as I think you would? my 7.75 and 8 wrap coils cleared my 33's a bit more than that.

you know what year/make they came off of?

as far as towing etc, I thought the LC coils were just great. I recently helped my mother in law move and she had 56 boxes of books, I packed like 36 boxes of books to the roof in the back with seats down (hundreds and hundreds of pounds) and took measurements, I dropped from 39" at the fender to just about 37" which is still just an inch lower than the OME coils, whereas with the thicker spring rate, I think the same load under OME would drop you to 36 or 35".

So really, I think the difference is perceived cuz you are coming from higher and notice a bigger change. OME gets the lift not by being tall but compacting the springs more. so you are shorter to begin with and wont sag as much, but will still be lower...

it all depends on your viewpoint, I think hes still gonna be taller than he would if he had OME towing anything.

If I remember correctly, when I emailed Steve at SS about the 1.2 system, he said it was the "shortest LC coil available" So I'm assuming they are 7 wraps. They looks taller when people install the 1.2 kit because they are new. Give it a few years, and they will sag down I'm sure. So for those like me piecing a lift together and getting used LC coils, the 8 and 9 wraps seems to be perfect because it has already sagged during its lift on the LC.

-Dont Know what year. Got them straight from steve at Sonoran Steel. maybe I can give him a call and find out.

-how much they compress, i havent measured. maybe i should do that. that'll be my next post.

I hope Steve doesn't mind me quoting him, but here's what he said:

"Johnny-

The rear springs in the 1.2 kit were never installed in any FJ80 during production. I am assuming that you are posting on message boards, The 91-92 had a taller coil but it has a much lower spring rate, so while the spring is taller on the garage floor when you install the spring in the truck it actually sits lower, the down side is this coils stacks much sooner as well.

The springs in the kit are a new and improved version you can only get new, they are the shortest springs with the highest spring rate. So while you may find something that sits taller on the floor more than likely when you install it, it will be the same or lower that what you have now. But the coils may stack sooner.

As for the air bags hopefully you have the bags at the bottom of the coil like in the directions. Sitting on the axle inside the coil with the air tubes on the axle. This will freeze the bottom 3 wraps so you get less sway, this will not do anything for load carrying. If you want to carry a load you can use 2 air bag kits one installed like in the direction with the nipples down on the bottom of the coils and one in the top of the coil with the lines up thought he sawed off cone. You want to cross link them upper left bag and upper right bag tied together and lower left and lower right tied together. Inflate only the lower for less sway and both to carry a load. Un-inflate them to articulate.

Steve"

Makes sense to me . . .

got the LC Coils on and am super happy. Gonna take it out tomorrow. They are 8 wraps from a 95 FZJ80. Used LC rear shocks and love them.

I'm looking to run the same lift. I have my 8wraps, LC Tokico Shocks on the way, and should be picking up some TRD coilovers this weekend. Put yours on first so I can see what it looks like! :hungry:

EDIT: I take this back I found your pics :nerd:
