Just finished a color match for a member. Turned out really well...the metallic in the paint pops in the sun.

The color match looks great! Where/what is the emblem from? That is the perfect size imo.

Thanks! And yes, I think those emblems look the best too! I'm always glad when they want those.

It's from a 85-90 7 series Land Cruiser. Usually around $40 shipped from Toyota Parts. Local dealers want close to $60 for them.

Upgraded my grill a bit. I first made it around year ago and I always wanted to tweak it here and there.

Rounded the corners around the winch control. Filled in a few rough places, but most importantly, thickened up the top horizontal divider. I'll add my lights again behind my grill when it comes out again to fix my broken headlight glass..

There's some nice custom grille's in this thread. I'd like a billet style grill like this one only in chrome, and without the fog lights mounted in front.

Most of the Satoshi grilles seem to take the frame and fill the middle with a flat steel mesh material. I'm looking for the horizontal billet style.

Here's some pictures to describe what I'm looking for, only these are not pictures of 4Runner's, but other vehicles' grilles.

I'm wondering if someone can take this concept and build me one, preferably chrome but maybe all black would work. Quote me a price. Thanks.

Just finished mine last weekend. Many thanks to [MENTION=72408]Mytoy4[/MENTION] for sharing knowledge and encouragement, and to Matt at customcargrills.com for prompt replies to my questions, the great selection of products, and terrific customer service. I used the precut 4Runner insert, which uses the Small Hex pattern mesh. The emblem is a Land Cruiser 40 series from eBay with the letters hand-painted Testors Dark Red.

While I'm very pleased with the outcome, if I had it to do over, I would buy the larger, rectangular mesh designed for any application and follow Mytoy4's thread instructions for the flush-style grill. I wanted the deep style but after the experience, IMO the difference in appearance is not worth the significantly greater time and effort needed to create the deep style grill.

It's inevitable to go outside the lines so to speak if you're handpainting an emblem, but just take a toothpick and gently rub the paint off the chrome. Do NOT use a solvent since it will strip the chrome. Trust me. :-(

Finished my own version of the Satoshi Grill mod. took about 5 hours and around $100. I think I might do another one but this time with a nicer Grill and emblem. And maybe use a more expensive octagon mesh. I used a $9 Corolla plastic emblem in Gold to match the rest of the emblems.

Got mine finished up this weekend. Used the small Toyota to start, but I'm planning on 3d printing a Land Cruiser emblem soon. Happy with it overall though!

Finished mine up today. I had been looking through this thread to get ideas so thanks everyone for posting. I'm pretty happy with how mine turned out. Helpful hint here: Customcargrills didn't have anything in their scrap pile but I found perforated aluminum for way cheaper at onlinemetals.com. The FJ emblem mounted easily through one hole so I only had to drill one hole for the other side. Also I used stainless steel zip ties to secure the grill.
