Dude... how did you paint match for only $5??

The picture makes it seem like a perfect paint match

Sorry my statement was probably misleading, I had the matched paint from a previous project... THAT spray can was matched at my local body supply outlet and I think it was $11

The flat black paint for the screen was $6.

I must admit, I was impressed with how close it was matched! I bought a matched can for my sons' Silver Eclipse and it wasn't so close as the body paint had faded. I was very impressed with how the grille turned out myself!

I peeled the faus chrome, sanded the cuts down, cut the centre of the grille out, and painted.

I then used cardboard to create a template then cut out the grille using the template, and panted it black.

Then I attached the mesh to the surround-- bolted the top and zapped the bottom.

Unfortunately, I noticed a couple of chips in the black paint on the grille. I'm going to remove it in the Spring, and repaint.

I recently did my Satoshi grille mod with [MENTION=159439]HMGT4R[/MENTION] a few weeks ago and they turned out pretty swell. Quite happy with the outcome.

I'm torn between leaving the emblem white or painting it black. If I leave it white it matches my wheels but I also want to paint the white of my wheels black so painting the emblem black would continue with my blackout theme.

Got my 1998 4-cyl grille from eBay today and test fitted it before hacking it up for a satoshi mod.

The grille doesn't clip up. The clip bosses are too fat, I need to file them down to fit the narrower clip-slots on my 99. Also, the bottom center clip doesn't line up with the car at all. Got me some work to do, but its all good.

I'm also on the hunt for grille screen and an emblem.
