Drilled mounting holes in my grill for the screening and pained the grille and the screen.

Painted the grille using, PerfectMatch Jade Green Mica and the screen using Painter's Touch 2x Satin Granite - I can always reshoot the screen black if I hate it in grey.

Gonna let the paint cure a few days, then shoot the grille with a Semi Gloss Clear. I'm not in a rush and rather have the paint last more than a year.

I used the same paint for my grill. Ran out after 2 coats so need to purchase another can. How many coats did you put and did you primer before?

Yes, I used primer first and 3 liberal coats of paint. The can is just about empty

Get a grill for a 96 to 98 4 cylinder unless you like the Chrome then get a 6 cylinder Grill

hey g-mny,
i have a couple questions as i am in the process of doing one now.

did you order from srq complete or do the mod yourself?

i like how the grill is/looks almost flush with the front and not recessed behind where the original fins were. how is this attached? i was planning to make a wood template and bend about 1-2" extra mesh back so it can be fastened to where the fins were cut from.

Has anyone transplanted the FJC grille for a 1996-2000 4Runner Satoshi grille? Will the width and height of the FJC grille fit the 1996-2000 4Runner grille?
