Potential Traction Control Problem?

So this happens every time i reverse down a driveway. I put the car into reverse, stop, put the car into drive and when I start to accelerate the traction control light comes on and there is a clicking noise. Is this normal or is something wrong? My runner has 184k on it. 2006 Limited V8. Thanks in advanced for your thoughts.

Edit: doesn't seem like you can here the clicking noise over the beeps of the Traction Control, but it is present...

Are you rolling backwards at all when you switch to drive? Or on a hill? If so, that would be HAC.

Does it do it if you reverse anywhere else then drive forwards, the first time after starting the car? Hope that makes sense. For example, mine makes a single click that sounds like the traction control system the first time I start moving forwards after starting the car, but only the first time after I start it. And it's just a single click and no lights come on. Maybe some kind of self-test?

Interesting. I’ve not heard about HAC. But it does it anytime I’m on a hill coming out of reverse into drive. I don’t think I’ve ever noticed a click on the first start up of the day or anything.

This happens every now and then with my 4Runner. I live on a decent hill and when I hit the street it and go from reverse to drive I’ll get the same thing.
