I don't know were you are located but, I got my wife's wheels powder coated black for $50 a wheel, that was in Southern Indiana though.

That is exactly what I wanted to do to my SR5 wheels... Any chance I can check out a picture with them mounted?!?!? :jump:

Powdercoating shouldn't be super expensive...FYI, just had my wheels and roof rails done last week. $85 a wheel, and $40 for the pair of roof rails.
Pretty happy with the outcome...had to post up some pictures:

Ha, I wonder if this is the same Scott that powdercoated some Mustang parts for me a few years ago when I still lived in Houston. I'm assuming so since I lived right near there. He's great and does awesome work.

Damn.. those look legit! There is a set of these for sale, for $75 near me. Might snag them and PC them. Last I checked, my PC guy was $50 a wheel.

How have you guys gone about powdercoating your wheels without purchasing a new set?

Put your 4Runner on jackstands, have a tireshop pull the tires/tpms sensors, and then take them to the powdercoater, wait several days, and then do the opposite to re-install? I love the look of it, but the logistics seem daunting to me.

yeah quite a few steps to go through; i have a Civic as a beater fyi. What's nuts, is this is the second powder coat place i went to. The first powder coater was an industrial site, and they had my wheels for a month with no progress! I picked them up and took them to another powder coater (Scott) which did it in a couple days.

So yes, the 4runner was on jack stands for almost 5 weeks. Had a few things done after dropping off the wheels and roof rails:

-ordered.....tires (went from 275 to 285), brake pads, TPMS sensor rebuild kits, & wheel locks
-spray painted roof rail plastic parts, pushed the front fender well forward (fender mod), replaced brake pads

I bought a second set of Trail wheels for pretty cheap on Craigslist, got them coated, had the dealer swap them out and then sold my set of Trail wheels on Craigslist for like the same amount I bought the other set for.

Here is another color for you to see...I found these 5th Gen wheels on CL and had them blasted and coated. Perfect for my 4th Gen.
