Is it only a dealer item or does anyone have one laying around?

Not sure if it is dealer only or not. You should check the classified section, there are a number of part outs in there. I'd bet you can pick one up there.

Local junkyard is another spot. Otherwise the dealership does sell both the antenna nut and bezel.
Double-check these before you buy...

I bought a satinless steel mast from raderra on ebay, but obviously I need some more parts.

So are the 2 part numbers in your quote what I need?

The shiny silver bezel nut I am holding and black plastic bezel directly underneath in this pic are the parts I am talking about, for an oe power antenna...

EDIT: Ah, just the mast...is there no motor under that fender then?
You can see it peeking out...

I have the motor (I can hear it on start/stop), missing what seems to be everything else.

In that case then yes, you need the bezel nut and antenna bezel. Junkyard nearby? It's up to you and your skill set/ comfort level/ need to tinker, I'd be tempted to open it up to make sure there aren't any left-over pieces of antenna track before installing a new mast.

The missing bits could be as simple as somebody installing a new mast but not quite getting the bezel nut threaded on. Antenna goes up, bezel nut pops loose and mast, nut and bezel all go bye-bye.

Yep, to get to mine I take off the chrome trim and enough of the wheel well liner to get in there. The antenna motor is held in by one 10mm bolt. You'll also need to unplug the antenna motor, the plug is a little above and not far from the motor itself. Then you are tethered at the wheel well by the cable that runs to the radio. The tube it's attached to can be removed from the motor or it's easy enough just work on it right there. You won't have to dig far into it if you want to check for pieces. Just be aware if you take it apart that there is a screw in the middle of the motor that you undo that has a captive nut on the back that will fall out once the screw is undone.

Somebody replaced the mast in the 99 without removing the broken bits of the old track. The extra bits broke one of the internal pieces and the antenna wouldn't work right. That would be the main reason I wouldn't want to simply stick a new mast in there. Also, you may have a little water in yours?

I'm in the middle of swapping bits out of a smashed up newer motor to my older worn-geared motor. There'll be a show and tell, in the next week or so, but I'm sure there are some excellent write-ups around already.
