Power antenna cleaning/lube?

My power antenna is super nasty looking and i want to clean it but that will strip the grease off of it. What do you guys use to lube that power antenna? I was thinking of using some motorcycle chain liquid wax spray I have.

Paste Wax is a good one to use.

I cleaned mine thoroughly and used a "dry" lube that I use on my mountain bike chain. This keeps it moving freely but doesn't collect road gunk as much as regular lube or grease.

So far it has been working great.

I use spray bicycle lube to clean it, but I wipe off as much as I can. I think less is more when it comes to lube on antennas. Mine has worked fine doing it this way since 1999 (nylon broke two years ago, but not for lack of lube, just got brittle), so I'm working on a new mast. I put lots of white lithium grease inside the motor when I changed masts.

I've never technically lubed my antenna.
I wet a rag with WD40 and wipe it clean periodically.
I've replaced it once since new due to warpage.
