There is a connector in the engine bay near the antenna that you can just unplug.

Might want to do the tacoma whip mod though.

i just installed a switch last weekend- take your radio deck out and there is a solid blue wire (if you have aftermarket) and just splice into that and put a toggle switch there- I put the switch in a little cave like thing in front of my 4wd shifter

my 97 doesn't have a connector so I just clipped the wires where they go through the fender and put quick connects on if I need to use it, a toggle would have been better but didn't have one handy.

I did my new mast today from Antenna Mast R Us, getting the broken cable out of the motor was easy enough but I had to drill out and break the plugs holding on my fender splash plate when I accessed the motor. Was not as easy to get off as they made it seem.

Napa wont have the plugs until tomorrow, gonna be rolling around town bootleg flapping I guess.

thanks guys. the antenna was broken in a place when i bought it and the motor squeals since it doesnt go up n down. ill give it a look at tomorrow

is there a ground or fuse/relay that i can pull without tearing in the inner fender well plastic mud catch off?

There may be a connector below your stereo that you can simply unplug. I did this right after I got my T4R becuase I had stripped gears and slightly bent antenna. After getting the antenna stowed in the down position, I simply unplugged it. Remove your stereo to make it easy. Mine is a 2000, this connector may not exist. Tear it off and take a look!

My index finger is touching the connector in the second photo.
