Power from OEM Amp in 08 Limited

I probably should have asked this prior to ordering, however, I just ordered this sub Polk Audio MM840 Mobile Monitor Series 8" subwoofer at Crutchfield.com to replace my factory sub. It appears I will be able to add a little extension ring to it, so it will fit, depth-wise. But, my question is, will the factory amp be capable of running this thing okay? I mean, is it worth it to buy this sub, yet keep the factory amp? I really don't want to mess with replacing the amp if I don't have to.

You're definitely going to under powering the hell out of it, but give it a shot. If you think it's not getting enough power, you can always add the amp later

Yeah, that's kind of what I figured. I might just go ahead and get a small mono amp for it, so I can do the tear out all at one time.

If you do go for the amp, hit me up, I have a brand new LOC that works with the JBL amp that would work for your amp. I ended up not putting a new sub on my JBL and don't have it in my new 4Runner

Well, that was a waste of time. The new sub is pointless on the factory amp, the stock setup was much better.

So, I will get an amp to run it. Dang.
