Power Hesistation

Similar problem...
I'm new here. I posted this same message in the "Problems & Warranty" section:

he has his own thread. so he isn't completely highjacking. however, a link would have been just as effective.

did you ever get to find that contact cleaner? and did it fix your issue?

i bought contact cleaner from an autoparts store very far away from where i live haha. I cleaned the MAF, and unhooked the negative battery side and now the check engine light is gone.(i only did this 15 minutes ago) but when I floored it to rev, it didnt seem to have any hesitation, except it stalled once...interesting..oh well ill keep you guys updated I also bought a k&n filter and damn they cost a lot

bewfor eyou install teh K&N, let me tell you that the oil is one of the reasons that your MAF gets fouled, so go with an amsoil or the true flow from burtman industries. but read that link i supplied earlier before you destroy your MAF and have to buy a new one, good luck, your engine prob just has to get used to having a clean MAF

...

Ok,

I'm new here. On some boards people bitch about posting the same topic over and over when it can be covered with one thread if everyone has the same problem..."search, n00b"

Now here, people complain about "thread jacking". That's fine. I will create my own thread. Next there's going to be several threads about the same problem just because someone wanted all the attention and did not want their thread jacked...

its not that, if you had almost the same problem as me, more power to ya...

anyway, k&n and clean MAF, car doesn't give me any more problems, and the check engine light is gone too!

alright, so now that you saved a couple hundred dollars by cleaning it, i will accept donations to paypal for my expert advice on this situation, my paypal address is...

see, arent ya happy you didnt waste 300 for no reason? keep the contact cleaner though as with a K&N the oil will resonate your hot wires, but ive run k&N for every single mile i put on the truck and i have only cleaned my maf one time, about a month or two ago

cool, thanks a lot runner up. Ill be replacing quite a few things around 85k, such as water pump, belts, plugs, fuel filter, all oils, and probably a seafoam treatment while I'm at it. I ordered a MAF just in case ( $29.99 :) ) Oh yeah can't forget the coolant and transmission oil flush.

wait, the MAF was 30$? where do you find your parts? back when mine threw the light toyota said like 300 or so. maybe the guy didnt look it up, but hey, for 30 bucks, might buy one just incase
