Power lock switches don't work

I am having an interesting issue with the power door lock switches. Both the driver and the passenger do not do anything. But when I lock and unlock using the key, they work fine. Also, when I start the car they automatically lock and auto unlock when I turn the car off. I searched around and found a lot of issues with power door locks, but none that were like this.

My thoughts were check the switches, but it is a low chance they both went out at once. The other thought is maybe if they both go through the same fuse or relay or something. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?

The power door locks require a working door lock actuator and door lock switch to work properly. If the door lock system is not working, odds are the trouble lies in one of those two components. Each door contains a lock switch that corresponds to that door's lock, while the driver's door lock switch controls all the door locks. You'll need to figure out which of those components have failed.

Also for some reason when it is hot out and your 4R is parked in the sun, there is a plastic bit inside the door panel that causes this problem as well.

It happens in any weather. So if one of the door switches is out, both will not work? I think the actuators are working because all 4 doors auto lock and unlock.

Door locks

I have an issue with mine as well and from what I have read there is little consistency from one to another. In my case neither the Fob or pwr locks work. The exception to this is that when the ignition key is inserted and turned to provide power from the battery the doors can all be unlocked using the pwr lock switch but not the fob.

Forum discussion and a recent one with a Toyota mechanic who reviewed schematics suggests a high probability of a connection between these kind of issues and the junction block located to the left lower front side of the driver area.
