Power steering Pump Problem- Please help!

Hi, i have Just replaced my Power steering pump and every thing looked to have went well( i regained power steering), But when i was driving home last night the belt came off. I then took off the pulley and put it back on and tightened the belt tensioner, then started it up again and a couple minutes later the belt had come off again. I looked at the pump and noticed that the shaft had extended out of the Unit( as shown in picture). I'm wondering if i had gotten a faulty pump or maybe the belt was on too tight or too Loose. If you can tell by the picture please let me know ,Thanks!

ya there should be a c-clip that holds the other end of that shaft on so i cant move. its inside where the fins are. i just rebuilt my factory one. deff should not come out like that.

Did you buy (brand new or refurbished?) this from Autozone?

It's re-manufactured , they said they didn't sell a brand new one.
