I have dealt with the always professional sales team at Toyota of Keene, NH in the past. Now my father has me go to prestige Toyota on Rt. 17 in Ramsey NJ for him to purchase a '13 Highlander (I tried sway him towards a CHERRY preowned 4Runner TE but he wouldn't bite)
I'm not sure if I'm just biased because of using the dealer in Keene or because Prestige is actually that off-putting. As soon as I step into the High volume dealer's showroom we're practically assaulted by a salesman who's looks bring to mind a Danny DeVito-John Boehner love child. Which is a net zero in my mind, but some might see this differently. So Dan Boehner goes on the explain the vehicles and options we've already researched I can't help but notice that some of the details he is using are incorrect. I'm not calling myself an expert in the Toyota catalog of vehicles and options but I think engine displacement and some of the different options would be a good thing to review before trying to sell a car.
After about 30 mins of following this fast talking slicked back car salesman around the lot I've had enough of the pitches. It felt like I was trying to look at the cars in front of me while having a poorly written brochure spit at the back of my head.
I hate when people only point out problems without offering solutions but I might have to piss myself off a bit. I just get this nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach at this dealership as though I'm going to be f--cked without the common curtesy of a reach around. I wish I could offer a better alternative in the NJ/NY area but I'm not ultra familiar.
