Previous TRD PRO colors not available for the 4R?

I was at the Toyota dealership today and saw that the 2019 Tacoma and Tundra are available in Cavalry, Cement and Quicksand as well as all the other standard colors. Bums me out that Toyota didn't give the 4R these same colors back, or any new colors for that matter, aside from the VooDoo PRO

Nope, and they're not likely to. They have their product mix as tight as a drum at the Tahara plant. The US plants have a little more wiggle room.

I'm glad that they keep the PRO colors specific also. I spent a year looking for a used Cement, and recently picked one up with no "PRO TAX". Couldn't be more happy. :high5:

Ha, I have the PRO grill and valances. But mine is also MGM sooo... its faux 2016 pro and I saved a ton of money by switching to a 2017 TRD OR.

I don't know, the new voodoo blue one with the weird roof rack is pretty god awful. It's more of the TRD Pro Mid Life Crisis Edition.

I have owned a 15 TRD Pro 4Runner and I now own a 16 TRD Pro Tundra.

My opinion on the Pro trim is it is only worth it to get the special color for that year. The Tundra trim level in the Pro is worse than the 4Runner.

Buy a Platinum Tundra (better leather, heated/cooled seats, JBL audio, memory seating, BSM) or a TRD Trail Off-Road 4Runner (sunroof-I get they are now standard on the Pro Trim, KDSS) and put a better suspension on it and have a better rig than the factory offers.

You will have a better chance on getting a deal rather than paying sticker or an ADM. A local Toyota dealership I went to today has two TRD Pro Tacoma's and two TRD Pro Tundra's with a 7k ADM. I was lucky to only to have to pay sticker for my two TRD Pro's.

Yeah, it would have been cool to get a Quicksand Trail, but I kinda like the colors being limited. For example I don't understand why Dodge doesn't restrict their impact colors to the higher trim levels. You shouldn't be able to buy a Plum Crazy or B5 Blue V6 Charger/Challenger :doh:

Curious why you would have a problem with this? The factory models are just basically this with upgraded suspension.

It’s so funny how many “Pro prima donnas”, there are out there! I guess bitter about how much they paid for their ride or something. Many probably never take their “pro” off the pavement. I myself like the look of the more aggressive TRD but don’t need the stiffer ride of the pro, and my 4wheel Drive is more than capable for the off-roading I do during hunting. That being said I purchased mine from the dealer with everything already on it, sure I lack the hood scoop that many complain about, I lack the pro suspension that many change anyway (if you’re a serious off-roader), most of my driving is on the road and my suspension is just fine, and it performs more than fine for hunting. My grill came from the factory NOT CHINA, my wheels from the factory, my step bars from the factory, and my skid from the factory, some may argue there are better options and I say have at em if you like shelling out money for capabilities many will never need. If you need them, get them and move on, more power to you and enjoy your hobby. I love my Nautical Blue with factory TRD components that came on it.

I saw one a few weeks back in the Beaverton, Oregon area. Personally, I thought it was pretty bad, but not as hideous as the online pics. However, to be fair I am comparing it to the sand, cement, inferno, and particularly the Cavalry Blue. That's stiff competition, and Cav Blue is my favorite of all the colors by a mile. The Voodoo reminds me of my sisters old 95 Ford Explorer...

I think the OP is upset that you can't buy a PRO with previous years colors, not that you can't get an SR5, etc with the special colors. And I agree.

Also for the next gen, can we please get rid of this obnoxious two-tone interior where the seats/dash are black but the headliner looks like this beige vomit from a 1996 Honda Civic. Black/black please.

I posted this because of the "why Toyota decided this" vs whose rig is better, etc.. I fully understand the specialty color PRO owners point of view with the exclusivity of it but why'd they allow those colors to carry on with the Tacoma and Tundra lineup? Why did they disregard those PRO owners?

Personally I was hoping the 2019 model year would have another color(s) be implemented aside from the PRO model. Even something from the other vehicle lineup like Pyrite Mica or Sandy Beach Metallic would have been nice aside the much dated current color palette.

I wanted a PRO in the special color but not having KDSS is #1 reason why I didn't buy one. In my experience KDSS makes a world of difference in handling, both on/off-road. There is a reason it is standard on the Lexus GX and an option upgrade on their flagship Land Cruiser and LC Prado. Hence why I bought a ORP with KDSS.

I don't think any of us are bitter about paying more for a pro. I paid more for an exclusive color that I love and that doesn't bother me. There sure are a lot of defensive faux pro drivers though. Case in point lol.
