Previous TRD PRO colors not available for the 4R?

Sorry OP, I know that wasn’t your intention. I deleted my comment because my sensible side caught up with my impulsive side. I really liked the videos you posted of kdss in action. You contribute lots of good stuff to this site.
My comment was tongue in cheek to the comments to follow about legitimacy of the very few bits of plastic. And the countdown to this degrading to a thread where resale becomes the theme, like accidents never happen.

^ Here is your answer in the first reply to your post. 'Merica vs Japan. If the 4Runner were built in the US Plant I am sure our market would have limited colors in the TRD OR 4Runner as well. US Toyota realized they could paint other trucks with the limited colors and sell more. So they did. Because freedom!

I see it coming from both sides, and whether there is more coming from one side like you say there is, what does it matter? In this thread you have people calling out those with "faux pro" and the opposite calling out Pro owners for wasting their money. At the end of the day you spent your money on what you wanted. I like the Pro, but knew it was out of my price range.

For the record, I was not targeting you specifically with my response, just quoted your post for my reply.

You mean people who prefer having a moonroof, well behaved kdss suspension, better aftermarket shocks, better aftermarket stereo, and not paying too much for a simple wheel upgrade with better than the "pro" P-rated tires?

Yes they definitely are selling more because of that, especially here in Hawaii where the Tacoma is the #1 sold vehicle. I'm not sure why though. I bought a 17' and sold it after a month. I could not get over that new powertrain.

I had a 2016 when they first came out. Had it for 2.5 years. It was good. My 2017 4runner is much better. When my wife and I had the two vehicles I always drove the 4runner haha. We since sold the Tacoma.

Also crossed over from a tacoma. Couldn't stand the engine and the 4runner is much roomier for the family.
 
For the record, zero fux given here regarding what people buy or do to their trucks. And, got mine for msrp (admit that i would have paid over tho, b/c the specialty color makes me feel...well, special. Thats the primadona in me i guess).

It was a real pain in the ass too get and it does have the few mostly pointless TRD trinkets on it so it would bum me out a little if the following year every other trim 4runner came in Cement. Its unique, there are so many 4runner on the road its cool to be the only Cement (i'm sure as with the other specialty colors) and people get stoked on the color too which is fun.

Well, most likey we have one more year of the 5th gen left and I hope they make the spcialty color the old fj army green and put some other "final edition" touches on it then everyone can lose their mind over it.... :) cheers!

Yep agreed...I’m not a big fan of all these “riced” up new color schemes. The quicksand is an obvious Magpul FDE knoffoff to appeal to the tacticool AR-15 crowd. I love my MGM just fine, and absolutely nothing wrong with good ol’ fashioned white, black, silver etc.
 
or....its just an old FJ color like the rest of the unique Pro colors. Also, people complain about trendy colors AND lack of variety and boring colors... can't make everyone happy I guess.
 
These threads are always good for entertainment. Guess I'll go complain about "overpaying" for an Off-Road. I am extremely content with paying 42k to have a Cavalry blue since it is in my opinion one of the best colors they came out with besides inferno orange.

For quite a bit less actually. Can't put either into "pro". But have to live with horrible shame of driving with "pro" wheels but with a plebeian color.
