Previous TRD PRO colors not available for the 4R?

Exactly. Recycling great colors from the FJ. I like the different colors. They aren't for everyone. But everyone seems to have their favorite one. Speaking of the FJ colors. Are the PRO's following FJ colors pretty closely? Close enough to hope for Army Green next year as the final 4Runner color??? I won't lie, I'll be hard-pressed not to work numbers for my trade at the dealer if it comes in Army Green haha

Yeah that was my hope as well and thought it would have been 2019 but maybe in 20'. Can't help but wonder why another blue right after the Cavalry, and it's just a few shades off as well

I had my 4Runner quoted to wrap in the Quicksand color. The average quote in the Atlanta area was in the $4k range. Trading for a new Army Green TRD Pro would be a better way to waste money IMO. I'd get leather and a Sunroof with the PRO.

I think that has to do with the release of the FJ colors. I guess I'm going to google that and see if there is a connection.

Hi guys, newbie here. Ive owned a couple of 4 runners. The latest is a 17 sr5 premium in mag grey. I bought it from my company and am doing exactly the thing you guys are hating on in this thread for my son. I am using real toyota parts but essentially a pro hood and front end.
For me, this was a win win because it was a vehicle I already owned and will end up being a pretty cool build with things there wouldnt have been money left for if I had taken a number, stood in line and paid msrp. Plus there would have been things we would have wanted to change even if it had been a pro.
I get those being upset that a standard truck can be made to look like the pro with a grand worth of kit, but at the end of the day the title doesnt change when the truck changes clothes, so the real pro will hopefully always hold its premium over the others, even if it doesnt have a neon sign on it screaming nanny nanny to the peeps driving lowly copies.

I wouldn’t worry about it. You do you. If they are so concerned they can look inside and see what it is if they want as far as 4WD selector or if it has the crawl and other goodies. ANY 4Runner is capable and worthy. The Pros do just fine on the resale front. Love those colors though!

so the only reason i decided to buy a pro over TRD OffRoad was.... the special colour (VooDoo this year) and the fox suspension. Having it owned for four days now the ride is amazing and the looks are killer. planning to stay with the stock setup. that being said, it would kill me to see if Toyota offers the Pro colours in the SR5 model. I can't imagine that the Tacoma and the Tundra owners just sucked it up and didn't object after paying the premium for the Pros.... so as much as i support he general T4R owner I would not be supportive to see SR5-Pros with Pro colours. Toyota is thinking something right..... especially when they know that T4R sells less than Tacoma and Tundra (and thus more exclusive market). Going along with the Toyota's own colour game they created for T4R. I do support Toyota adding more colour choices overall.

of course one can argue but this is just my point of view.

Must be the market demographic Toyota is catering to. I just bought this 2019 model last week and there isnt a single color offered on it that you cant get on any other toyota. I never thought in the least about getting upset about that either. Under that logic one would think the most expensive vehicle toyota sells in the USA would come in special colors, but I guess the people buying thise dont want to stand out. i know I dont.

colour choices are so personal to an individual's taste... its like putting on colourful socks that one can buy for $5 a pair or $50 a pair. many put on socks with a pair of shoes that range from $100 to $1000... can you really tell? yes one can tell if they know what to look for... and in most cases they would carry the same taste.

but back to your point, the ones who know quality buy toyotas... regardless of the colour or size.. its a conscious reflection of individual's personality, isn't it?

I definitely am considering that option as well and picking a color that hasn't been an OEM option. I thought about this color called "Midnight Sand Metallic" wrapped on this Tacoma. As for the FJ colors, only the Cement was technically a Trail Teams special color (at 1st) and the 4R hasn't followed the FJ in any particular chronological order. Not really they would end up cutting in to their profit margin immensely due to the cost of doing 8-10 different colors. Toyota has it down to a science for the 4Runner.

It would actually be really cool if for a "final edition" for the TRD Pro at least, if they offered all previous colors.

A guy can dream, can't he? I think I would go with Quicksand for my "final edition" TRD Pro 4Runner. It would be a tough choice though.
