Pricing question on an '07 limited

Looked at my first 4Runner this week and wondered what everyone thought. Its an '07 limited V8 with 55k on it. Navigation, sunroof etc.. Mint condition. Dealer wants 25k out the door... thoughts?.. I love it and it drives really nice And I read they are pretty much bullet proof.. Anything else I should know?

Thats a pretty good deal. I know I paid $2k more for my 08 urban runner 4wd with 27k miles on it. Are you in a northern climate that see's snow and its a 2wd? You check the carfax or autocheck?

Not sure where you're located but that would be a pretty good deal around here. Not great, but good. If it's not a CPO I'd make sure to take it to a Toyota dealer and have them do a prepurchase inspection. I just bought an 07 Sport Edition with 60k miles on it for $24k-ish. It was a CPO with complete service history done by Toyota.

One thing I'd definitely do is get the VIN number and go register at the Toyota Owner's website. You can enter the VIN like you own the car and it will show you any service done at a Toyota dealers. I've seen an accident report show up that way that didn't show on a Carfax. They took it to the dealer first and then for whatever reason took it somewhere else to actually be fixed. Carfax showed no repair history but the Toyota Owners website showed the owner brought it in for an estimate after a rear end collision.

make sure 4 Lo works. put in neutral turn selector knob. it will flash. if it never stops flashing it doesnt work.

This is probably the infamous drive shaft clunk. It's actually pretty easy to fix yourself if you don't mind getting under the 4Runner. Here's a good writeup:

Also, good call on checking the 4WD to make sure the actuator is working. It's big bucks to fix if it doesn't.
