Prinsu install

Hey everyone is talking my full length prinsu. When installing the side rails I noticed they don’t sit straight up and are slanted. Is this i normal? No matter how I move the rail it’s still slanted which I think would make it difficult to mount the cross bars. Below I attached a photo not sure if you can see the slant or not.

Theres no way. Each side bar can only go on one way otherwise the brackets will face outward instead of in?

Sorry, I meant with the prinsu mounting bracket and side rail attached as you had it in the pictures you have in your original post.

Oh bummer I took the side rail off. The bracket is flush with the spacers. At first I thought I just need to adjust the rail so the boots would be in the middle of the bracket but that just made it worse.

I don’t have a prinsu, but all the install vids I just watched have them building the rack first on the ground then putting it on top. Maybe attaching the crossbars and tightening them bring the side rails in more and straightens them up?

This is common, install both rails, then install the crossbars to square things up and make sure everything is all lined up, once you have done that, install the legs that are held on by 3m tape. Once it’s all together the rack is solid.

Mine looked like that too before I installed the cross bars. The cross bars help pull everything all together. It's still a pretty crappy design for the mounting since all the weight is on those little spacers.

I'm fairly confident mine looked like that during my install as well, its been a few months sorry.

I installed the 4 main bolts per side loosely, just enough to keep the spacers from falling out, then installed a bunch of cross rails to pull everything together. Then I doubled checked that the rack was square and in the centre before removing 1 mounting bolt at a time and filling it with silicone sealant and tightening it down to spec.

Once all of the bolts were tightened, I rechecked centre/squareness and installed the 2 front 3M tabs. I let the tabs adhesive stick overnight with a bunch of boxes on the front of the rack to hold the 3M in place.
