Prinsu Rack crossbar height

looking at buying a prinsu full rack but need some info.

Does anybody know the height of the crossbars on the prinsu rack from the roof in comparison to the OEM crossbars?

I want to confirm my yakima skybox can mount on the prinsu rack if need be.

Hey, the lowest point from the roof to the bottom of the crossbar is 1". This is at the mid section of the rack. At the front and back it is around 2 1/2"
I've but a full size Thule topbox on mine no problem.

the issue with the yakima box is the mounting clamps sit well below the bottom of the box. on the stock bars theres less than 1/2" clearance to the top of the roof.

Check out Sherpa. I have one and love it. They offer a few pros over the Prinsu as well. Slightly higher too, which would be perfect for you.

Digging up an old thread here... did you ever find out if a Yakima Skybox will fit on a Prinsu rack? I’m considering get that rack and want to get an idea if the Skybox will be compatible with clamp clearance.

never could get a solid answer on heights so i went a different route and got a rhino rack platform instead, which you can easily fit a skybox on.

i found this info if it helps.

Side Rail Height: 2" (measured at the center)
Height Added: 1.75" (measured from the center point of the roof)
Clearance: .625" (between roof and rack)
