I just installed a Prinsu full length, and after I finished it occurred to me that there wasn’t any step to address water leaking into the holes utilized for the install. Anyone run into any leaking issues after installing the Prinsu? Should I try and add some urethane type sealer or something?

I used this when I installed mine 3 years ago and haven’t had any leaks. When pulling the oem bolts out for the first time, you’re usually ruining the sealant that’s used from the factory. I’d address it before finding out the hard way if it’s still water proof.

They're supposed to be including RTV in the kits now when you buy it vs having to go get your own. Plenty of video's out there showing how to seal the factory holes during installation.
I posted another thread this past week asking for long term reviews as I can see where dirt can really get in under the feet and the front feet require cutting making yet another hole for dirt to get into.

I already have the front feet 3M adhesive down, so I’m hesitant to remove the whole rack. But I got some urethane edge sealer, do you think if I just took the bolts out and put some of this in the hole and then replaced the bolts through the goopy urethane there, that would seal it up?
The front feet didn’t require any cutting for me. It’s just attached via 3m adhesive pad. They include thread locker with the install kit, is that RTV? I used that, I just don’t know how waterproof it’s going to make it because it was just on the threads of the bolt, seems like water could still make it through

You didn't cut the weatherstrip and have the front feet sitting on the roof vs on the weatherstrip?

Had me worried for a second that I totally screwed up. That video is for a 4th (5th?) gen; my question and install is for a 3rd. The front foot doesn’t end up on any sort of weather stripping.

The water can only leak through the root of the threads... so depending on how much thread locker is on there, it can also act as a sealant. Probably still smart to put a dab silicone sealant or a dedicated thread sealant on the the threads - and make sure the hole for the roof rail front and rear cap clips are sealed while you are at it...

The purple Vibra-Tite 111 is usually for the black bolts going into the crossbars.
I would recommend using a proper RTV-type sealant for the vertical roof bolts.

Yup sorry 5th Gen install. Didn't note what you had. Still interesting the differences in mounting between all the different racks out there.
