good thing i dont drive a prius.

battery packs though, really? what will they steal next...

on a side note this seems like an easy thing to catch somebody on... why would you have it if you dont need it and i'm sure they are serialized (if not they should be!) so they should be quite easy to trace... i will never understand criminals...

They definitely should have serial #'s and be able to be tied to a VIN somehow
 
battery packs do not have serial numbers/vins on them.

at least tesla has it easier since those battery packs are 1000 lbs each, so not as easy to steal compare to the 150 lbs packs in the prius.
 
I guess I should take the Hybrid synergy drive badge off my runner...lol. Thiefs in general are dumb, so I dont want them thinking mine has a huge battery. :boink:
 
My co-workers and I are surprised they can do it in 20minutes.

Interesting thing to note, one of the guys suggested maybe it's really just a convenient insurance tactic to have them replace a battery versus paying out of pocket for a new factory one? Those crap hybrids are getting old enough now that the battery packs are failing more commonly.
 
turns into a zero net gain in the end. the amount you save in gas you then have to turn around and buy a new battery pack :)
