PRO Fox suspension install on 2020 TRD-Off-Road /w KDSS

thank you for the valuable information here. i have a kdss 5th gen and have a full set of pro fox suspension (have not installed yet). do you see any difference with 2 passenger sides in front or 2 driver sides in front? do you think there is zero lean with either 2 passenger or 2 driver side sets? are there height differences between both?

so there is 3/4 inch difference between my 2020 OffRoad and 2010 Limited. Limited with two passenger side TRF Fox and the OffRoad with two Driver side TRD Fox. what is more bothersome is that the limited is 1 inch shorter in all sides than the OffRoad.

Wait for your suspension to settle on the off-road. Mine looked really high too. It's lowered about half inch since install.

I picked up two sets but have not installed anything yet. Will most likely go with the Eibach springs as the fronts and rears are the same in that kit.

A little late to the discussion. But since you have a 2020, it probably has the pre collision warning system and lane departure warning.

Did the addition of the fox pro suspension require recalibration of those safety features ?

I have the 2021 TRD Pro suspension kit on order for installation on my new 2021 TRD Off Road. From the pics, the two front shocks now appear to be identical with no difference in lower perch height. The was a TSB issued on the 19 and 20 Pros for a front suspension clunk. The fix is to replace the fronts with the 2021 part numbers. The lower perch has been redesigned. I also used the parts configurator to confirm that the 2021 TRD Pro front shocks are approved for installation on my 2021 OR.
I’ll update once I have my hands on the parts. I’m especially interested to see if the perch heights are the same or if the dealer just copied the pic to show a complete shock kit front and rear.

I just bought a 2021 Venture and I'm interested in the same thing! I'd put an order in if I knew a bit more. Please keep us updated! It looks like the new spring is a lopped off one at the base rather than a ground to flat one?

I have the eibach pro lift coils installed on my trd pro fox shocks, on my kdss 4runner. I have not ridden in a stock trd pro, so I don't really have a comparison base. It is a lot stiffer than stock TRDOR suspension. But i like it...feels more active/planted to the ground. Ride height is pretty much right where I want it, and my 285's look great. I do have KDSS lean, and will be installing a 1/4" dobinsons front spacer to level it out. Also getting camburg UCAs installed, as they were not able to get the caster where I wanted with the stock UCAs.

Zero negative impact on the PCS. Works just fine and zero malfunction of any kind.

Just finished the dealer install of a 2021 Fox TRD Pro Suspension Kit on my '21 TRD OR with KDSS. I have a 1" lean left to right, driver's side high, after recalibrating the KDSS and am convinced it is due to the different perch heights on the front springs. I just ordered another front left to install on the right side, same as you, niadh0. This should hopefully get me back to 100% level side to side with about a 1-1.25" rake front to rear.

Having said that, I'll have a single right side Fox shock, part no. PTR61-89210-RF, for sale if anyone wants to build a kit.

I decided to go this route after speaking to a Fox tech person a couple days ago. He said the TRD Pro shocks were "special" and nothing else they sell at this time has that combination of on road and off-road performance.

We'll see. I'll report back after the right side install.

now that's great to hear. my decision to go with two identical fronts (I think i was the first one ever to do this) was based on other users sharing their lean issue. I I didn't want take any chance so combined the two kits - one set on mine (two LF) and there remaining set on my wife's 4R limited (two LR).

Now with your experience, now its a full tested fact that the OR with KDSS needs identical shocks in the front. since you had the KDSS calibrated, you may have to do it again once you put the identical shock. Let know how it goes.

after a year, my 4R has maintained the level and the height. No drop of any kind or lost level or exhibited any lean.

Did you buy the single left strut through the dealer?
