I changed my oil on my 99 runner for the first time yesterday. I would like to think I did a decent job, but I'm so sure I did. Right after I finished, I started to notice something odd. Sometimes when I put the car in gear and hit the gas, it takes a couple seconds to register that I am hitting the gas and start moving. Sometimes I just let go of the gas completely and hit it again and it works fine. Sometimes it does this in the middle of driving as well. I'll let go of the gas to slow down and hit it again and it will not register the first time.
I keep checking my oil level and it is way too high - a few inches about the top marker. I only put the 5.1 quart container in, so I'm thinking the reading is wrong. I don't see any leaking, my oil light is off, and my engine temperature has been fine.
(When changing my oil, I emptied my oil tank, changed the filter, and added the 5.1 quarts. I was on level ground and let it empty for over an hour)
Any ideas what could be going wrong? I'm afraid of driving on it too much if it's a big problem. Thanks!
