I've had a rattling in the front of my runner for a while now, and recently I've been going through a checklist of things that could fix it and I've now hit a dead end. It happens most noticeably when I hit a section of small bumps in rapid succession, like over a street that's really worn down and has had the cracks fixed many times, or over a rough gravel area on a trail.
Yes, I searched this forum and others, along with a google search that has turned up no results other than those things listed below.
Things I've already changed/checked:
1. Front sway bar/end link bushings - brand new
2. steering rack bushings - brand new poly bushings
3. tie rods and ball joints are good - had the alignment place check them after I lifted it and got an alignment, they fixed one inner tie rod and now I'm good.
4. Just put OME suspension kit in from Cruiser Outfitters, double and triple checked all the bolts that were touched during install after test run last weekend.
5. not a rattle in the exhaust, I checked that because I heard of another member having that problem but that wasn't the issue.
The only thing that I have any kind of idea of what it could be is the anti-rattle springs in the front rotors are missing, because it doesn't sound like the rattle is in one side or the other because I can hear it from both sides of the truck.
I've tried to recreate the noise by moving and hitting everything that moves with the suspension with a mallet underneath, and I have been unsuccessful.
So I turn to you, and ask if you all have any ideas as to what this could be.
