Problem Solved...it was the gas!

I had posted a problem with my new 05 4Runner about having somewhat of a lumpy idle. I could feel minor kicks and bucks through the steering wheel and shifter when parked. It was nothing major but annoying. Another member (Toyoboy) suggested that I try getting my fuel at another retailer. (I didn't think it would matter, but I always get my gas at the same place)

I tried it and voila, lumpy idle gone. It was the gas. I ususally get fueled up close to my home at Sunoco. It is funny because I owend a 02 Pathfinder for 3 Years and the idle quality on this truck was flawless. I think the reason for this was that I was always filling this truck up at Petro-Canada and I only started the Sunoco thing when I received the 4Runner.

I am just so elated that the issue is solved. It was more of an annoyance and I knew I would get no love from the Dealership.

Has anyone else had any issues like this with gas from one retailer?

Cheers,

Glad you solved it! Yes, I've had trouble before. I used to get gas at the same station all the time since it was only 1/2 block from the house. When the gas prices took off way back I started shopping for price and noticed my performance went up. So I went back to the Texaco and it started running bad again. I never went back. Now I make a point to not gas up at the same place all the time and it's been fine since then.

I would have suspected it more if it had been an old station with old tanks, but it was relatively new.
