Well guys, I have been living in ignorance for awhile now... All is not well for me and my supercharger.
I am having an issue where sometimes (quite rarely) when I am just cruising around, if I press the accelerator, my wideband gauge will lean out to a point it does not even register (past 18.1) until the exact moment I enter boost, the URD MAF kicks in and richens it back up. When it is leaning out, the 4Runner acts as if it's getting no fuel at all, has no power, and kinda lugs about. More often then not, this happens when I run for the first time in the day.
The problem was most prominent on my recent trip down HWY 101 to California.
Cruising up rather steep hills at 55mph puts me at right around 1700 rpm, which means if I want to hold that speed, my engine enters boost, and richens up. When I would crest the hill, I would lean way out (past 18.1) until I entered boost again, where it would again kick in the URD box and become more rich. I know, that is normal, HOWEVER, say if that hill led up to a plateau, when I would be cruising on top of the plateau for hypothetically 10 miles, if I gave it a little gas to speed up some, it would just lean out, unless I mashed it to enter boost. When it happens once, I can pretty much count on it happening for the rest of the day, or at least until I stop driving for a couple hours
It is to the point where I don't want to drive my 4runner far from home. Not because I am afraid of it breaking down, but rather because it makes me so angry that it's not working properly.
My signature has my fuel upgrades listed, but for ... giggles I will list them.
