Problems w/removing pins for brake pads

I am having trouble removing the pins holding in the brake pads. They are pretty rusty and I was wondering what would be the best method to remove them without damaging them or something else. BTW, this is on a 2001 sport

spray them down with Brake cleaner, try to find same size punch or another pin and lightly tap them out far enough to grab with pliers and then remove the rest of the way.
 
Yah, I bent mine on the way out too, you could try a little silicone spray as well for a little lubricant and make sure you clean everything up good before you put it back together.
 
Hit the end with a hammer! And when you put it back together use a little grease on the pin so it wont rust to hell next time
 
Well i bought new pins so that i won't have to put the rusty ones back in. problem is, i still cannot get the old ones to pop out. i've tried a hammer, i've tried hammering with the new pin, i've tried a punch... none of it's working. all i've done is flatten out the end of the pins and get really angry. i'm almost to the point of giving up and taking it to a mechanic. i guess this is what i get for buying a vehicle that came from new england. anybody else have any good ideas? i was thinking maybe i could cut the pins with a grinder or a hacksaw and then pound the pieces out...
 
or go to the autzone or similar auto parts store and they might sell this stuff in a can that is designed to freeze seized parts and therefor help in the removal.

Try PB Blaster(everywhere) or Kroll oil(harder to find). Forget WD40 for this. Soak overnight then bash with a hammer (more to set up vibration). Then try and drive it out.

If that fails, heat with propane torch. Get as hot as you can. Apply a candle and let melted wax get sucked into the hole. Try again.

That's it. Walmart has it probably for less than Lowe's but both are cheaper than auto parts stores. That and anti-seize are fundamental in any garage. Put the anti-seize on the new pins and they will slide right out next time. Also use it on any thread you unscrew except wheel lugs, but paint the back of the wheel with it.

no luck with the PB blaster. the pins are just as solid as before... i guess i'll check if any of my buddies have a torch...

Can we get a picture of these things? I've never seen any that didn't come out with a little lube, a pin punch and a BFH.
