ProComp said rims won't fit my Sport Ed 4Runner

Ordered 17" ProComp 7069 rims for my 2007 Sport Edition via Discount Tire. Just got a call that ProComp cancelled the order because they claim the rims won't fit over the brake calipers. I realize that the calipers are position further out because of larger rotors, but my OEM 17" rims clear the caliper with no problem.

Thinking about calling Pro Comp to obtain the inner OD dimension and compare to the OEM rims.

Also open to any suggestions for black off-roading style rims that will fit.

Those are nice wheels, with a nice offset. Too bad if they wont fit. I also have a sport and I am looking for wheels that will fit. I have contacted a few companies and they have all said they would fit, except one, Mickey Thompson,which recommended a trial fit first and wouldn't guarantee they would fit. It might be the width of the caliper that might rub on the inside face near the holes rather than the outside of the caliper on the inside diameter of the wheel. I would call them directly.
 
How about Mickey Thompson's? Classic II? The Classic II Lock is real perty.

It's basically the same as the pro comp wheel you're looking at. Eagle Alloy and Ion Alloys, and some other brands also make versions of that same wheel.

Also I'm pretty sure someone here has 7069s and an SE.

You can also buy other color beadlocks (or paint this one?) if you really wanna fancy em up.
 
I like those wheels as well and the classic II's but it says the offset is -15mm, which I think is too much. The one I was looking at was the Sidebiter. I found one guy who put them on a sport and they rubbed.
 
There is a new MT Classic III with a -12mm offset, which might work. I have seen a few running -12's, they seem too look good in the pics on the 06+ with the wider flares. I am pondering -12mm, would have preferred 0's or -6mm's, but there are a few wheels I like that only come in -12.
 
After I started this thread, I called ProComp. The guy I spoke with had no clue as to whether or not they would fit, and he didn't have any measurement specs on the 7069 rim. I'll head over to Discount Tire in the morning to talk to the guy who placed the order and inquire as to who it was he spoke with at ProComp.

I am revisiting the KMC Enduro. I did look at the MT Classic II, but now I don't remember why I determined it wouldn't work.

Not really wanting bling rims. All I'm after are classic looking black off-road rims. And not too pricey since I'm having to buy 5.

I guess you missed my original post. This is for a Sport Edition, which has bigger brake calipers, and therefore cannot use 16" rims. Furthermore, those are too flush with the tire for serious off-roading.

Looks like the 17" ATX Artillery rims will also fit on the Sport Ed. They are a -12 offset. A bit pricier and more bling, but I'd be okay with 'em.
 
UPDATE: ATX Artillery discontinued!

Grrr...ran over to Discount Tire this morning to order these. He called ATX to place the order and was informed they have only 1 rim left as they are discontinued.

So ended up back with Pro Comp and went with model 7089-7983. Let's hope Pro Comp ships 'em this time.

Its not the inner diameter its the "X-factor" measurement of the rim, the angle in which the spokes so to say site in relevance to the hub face, basically The spokes are going to hit the face of the caliper a wheel spacer would solve this issue I had the same problem with my rims it just took a 1/4" spacer and slightly longer studs to get it to work and even shaved a little metal off the face of the caliper to help to.

Black off-road rim suggestion Black rock Steel wheels, you can custom order a backspacing of your needs or liking, also being steel if you off-road and scratch or ding the bead a hammer an paint fix the problem I run black rock d-window 16X8 inch rims with a 4.25 backspacing you can also find them in a 17" rim and it only costed me $495.00 for 5 rims

If you look at my wheel ad in the classifieds section, you'll see what rock crawlin' has done to my rims, hence the desire to get rims that sit further back from the tire sidewall. I don't want poser rims. I want off-road utilization rims.
