Proper line up of rear shock bushings and washers

Hi everyone,

I did a few searches and youtube video on proper order of mounting hardware for rear shocks. I feel like this may have been covered a few times, but I dont think I've seen a complete picture with the proper order of bushings for the top nut, and lower mount.

the picture is kind of vague as its not high enough resolution, but based off my search, I think this is the order. Please correct me if I am wrong .
I have a 2002 4runner, these are OEM shocks with new mounting hardware.

Just want to be sure:

Top:
nut
top retainer 90948-A2004
bushing
BODY(Unsure here, going to compare once i get in there to be sure)
Middle retainer: 90948-02119
bushing with lip:
lower retainer:90948-A2004



Bottom connection:

outwards --> in

Lower shock bolt:91619-G1222
washer lip outwards: 90948-03020
bushing: 90385-19007
bushing:
washer lip facing body: 90948-03011

First time doing shocks, just want to be sure.

Whats the point of the middle washer on the upper shock bushings? I dont think my bilsteins came with them and I don't remember seeing them on the shocks I removed that looked original.

The top picture is how they came from the factory. The middle retainer (washer as you called it) has (or should have) an upward facing lip which matches the lip on the bottom bushing, and centers the shock stud in the frame mount.

yeah few aftermarket setups don't even bother with the middle 'retainer cushion'. I was confused as heck, I thought you don't want metal on metal contact hence the point of the bushings

still not sure why the middle is there, wouldn't the metal on metal make a noise? I guess it doesn't but not sure why lol. Anyway thanks for clearing this up. !

Anyway, hopefully i can complete this tomorrow. Maybe ill wait until I get my compressor from home depot. got a good black friday deal . maybe it will be fun to fix the car with power tools

Thought that was what the little nipple on the bushings them selves did?

My dad went and got them replaced, didn't even let me know so i could tell him the order. Hopefully they got it right. ill check under a ramp tomorrow.

I Was hopping for a smoother ride, unless they did something wrong, pretty much felt like before minus the loud clunk of shock hitting the body. (Top not fell off)


Maybe springs are shot?
