Proper mats for a 2013

I just got hot off the mold 2013 mats (Toyota p/n PT908-89130-20) from Sparks...Toyota finally made the necessary corrections and took them off "no-sale". The holes for the locks now have a plastic grommet. They fit great and seem to be made of a more durable, less brittle "rubber" material. I am very happy with them, especially at $70.

Half the price, they have the 4Runner logo & I typically prefer factory accessories because they fit better and are designed for the vehicle. The 2012 & previous mats are junk and rip at the latch-holes, but these are good stuff because of the new rubber formula and the grommeted holes.

I have the OEM 2012 mats like your pics with the "4Runner" verbiage and logo. After 8K miles in 3 months of winter they show no signs of "ripping" at the clips and they certainly are not junk. On top of that the price for them can't be beat. They were free.

Previous to receiving the 2013 mats, they sent me a set of 2012 mats (which obviously didn't fit and I sent back). The 2012 mats are the same material and latch-hole design as the mats on my 2009 FJ.
My FJ mats only lasted 9K miles...they cracked on the tread details up by the gas pedal and the latch-holes ripped-out. For this reason, I was reluctant to buy the 2013 4R mats, but I am very happy that they have done their homework and corrected the problem areas.

They are soft rubber (I think they list them as all weather) with a hard plastic grommet for the latch.

The Husky liners offer much better coverage. I just removed these OEM mats for that reason and went with Husky.

They have been "available for some time", but not really. Toyota has had them on "no-sale" since early December due to "manufacturing issues". Probably more like them freaking out over the possibility of the driver's mat migrating up over the gas pedal or something like that. I've been back-ordered since December waiting for the no-sale to drop. They just took it off 2 weeks ago.

I ordered a set off ebay in November from a dealer (after the 2012 version from Weathertech wouldn't fit), and I didn't have a problem getting them. Who knows what happened between then and now though. You wouldn't think car mats would be such a problem for Toyota!

I ended up returning them, and patiently waited for Weathertech. Since Weathertech can't get their act together, I ordered the Husky's.
