Proud new Owner in Houston

Hello everyone,

After visiting this site for a couple weeks, I am proudly joining the ranks as new owner. This is my first 4runner, in fact it is my first Toyota. I am coming out of a 2002 BMW 3 series, loved the car but needed more room.

Anyway, here is the scoop:
2005 2WD V6 Sport edition
Galactica Gray Mica
Double Decker Cargo System
Daytime running lights
Sunroof
Extra Mile PAckage "A"
window tint
Vehicle Shield Package
Rear Spoiler

We negotiated the deal at $500 over invoice, happy with the outcome.

I am loving the new height and sitting position. This thing is so smooth and quite at highway speeds. I took my my wife and our two dogs for a a quick ride.

Well, here is a question. The car had the Vehicle Shield Package, I could not get around it. Can someone breakdown what exactly are the different items within this package? ie. Sound shield?

A "shield" package could consist of quite a few things,

- Paint shield (like tough wax/sealant)
- Rustproofing (sprayed inside panels and around nuts, bolts, hinges, etc)
- Undercoating (sprayed under the car, fights rust and also deadens sound)
- "Invisibra" (Clear 3M film on the front end)
- Fabric Scotchguarding
- Leather/Vinyl protectants

All depends what that particular dealership offers as to which of these are bundled. Stuff like undercoating, rustproofing and the 3M invisibra stuff is no joke.....really nice things to have.

Thanks guys, I managed to read all about it in the small literature that the dealer included in the reading material. I should have done that to begin.
Well, I have been enjoying this thing all weekend and of course I have been looking at some mods already.
