And here I just did a bunch of comparison shopping and bought 4 of their "Pittsburgh" 6 ton jack stands this past Saturday... Whew... looks like I went with the slightly pricier option that is not impacted.

And this impacts only the "Pittsburgh Automotive" line model (61197). Seems like they are still selling the "Pittsburgh Automotive" - on clearance, but with new model numbers.

Glad I spent the extra bucks on ESCOs. The design of the Harbor Freight ones didn't inspire confidence.

Article shows a picture of the new red stands, but some googling made it look like it was the older gray ones. Went out and checked all 4 of mine, mine are #69596 so not included under the recall.

I'm seeing the same being reported across forums - the affected stands are gray or silver, not red. I'd check those model numbers no matter what if you have them.

I have four of these. They are grey.

I never had to deal with a HF recall. I hope it's as easy as showing up with the product once it shows up on the recall list on their website. I don't have an account with them or the receipts.

And to HF: An effing GC? Really? Just what I want to do is be forced to buy more HF crap that will put my life in their hands.

I have 2 sets. Recall set and model number 38847. Recall set is visibly smaller and the pawls seem smaller. The arm from the 38847s will not fit in the base of the recall set. Hmmm China......
